KCNF partner Elaine L. Fitch will be serving as a panelist on and moderating the panel discussion, “Will COVID-19 Permanently Change Federal Employee Accommodations?” at the 15th Annual Section of Labor and Employment Law Conference, November 10–13, 2021 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California.
The panel will examine whether changes to federal workplaces during the pandemic, including virtual work options, flexible hours and less restricted unscheduled leave will continue to be offered post-pandemic. Will there be a permanent shift in attitudes toward these traditional accommodations and will they constitute an undue hardship for federal agencies? Our panelists will explore these changes considering recent EEOC decisions, federal workplace experiences during the pandemic, and President Biden’s “Executive Order on Protecting the Federal Workforce,” which reinforces the policy that, “The Federal Government should be a model employer.”
The conference will take place in person but also will provide virtual options to participate. For more information on the annual conference and to register, click here.
