KCNF is pleased to announce that Thomas O. Walker II has joined the firm as Counsel.
Walker joins KCNF after more than a decade of service in senior legal roles with the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he litigated employment, criminal, and national security matters and advised government leaders on employment law, national security, security clearances, insider risk, intelligence oversight, and privacy issues. His experience aligns with the firm’s longstanding commitment to representing employees in complex workplace disputes.
At KCNF, Walker represents federal and private sector employees in employment matters involving discrimination, retaliation, disciplinary actions, and other workplace disputes. His firsthand experience litigating employment cases and advising agencies on personnel actions, workplace investigations, and related matters provides clients with valuable insight into the legal and practical challenges they face.
“Tommy’s extensive litigation experience and firsthand insight into how federal agencies handle personnel and security matters make him an immediate asset to our federal and private sector clients, who are navigating high-stakes employment disputes,” said Elaine Fitch, Managing Partner of KCNF. “We are excited to welcome him to the team.”
Over the course of his legal career, Walker has litigated more than 100 cases, including 75 employment matters, and advised nearly 1,000 clients. Before joining KCNF, Walker served as Assistant Staff Advisory Attorney for Navy Installations Command, where he advised senior leadership on employment law, security, privacy, ethics, procurement, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) matters.
He also served as an Employment and Security Oversight Attorney with the U.S. Department of Commerce, where he litigated employment cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board, advised agency leadership on workplace matters, and helped establish the agency’s insider risk program.
Earlier in his career, he served as a prosecutor with the Department of Defense Office of Military Commissions and as a criminal defense counsel with the U.S. Navy. He was recognized as the U.S. Navy Defense Service Office Pacific Counsel of the Year in 2018 for his advocacy and leadership, and received numerous military awards and commendations throughout his service.
