In a recent cyberFEDS® article by Legal Editor Anjali Patel, Esq., KCNF partner, George Chuzi explains that getting a vaccine exemption may be harder than federal employees think. While the Safer Federal Workforce guidance requires agencies to consider exemptions, there are key factors that must be considered when analyzing requests, including creating procedures for submitting exemption requests, determining medical conditions preventing vaccination, reviewing documentation submissions and suspicious requests, evaluating undue burden in accommodation requests, and denying requests.
At the end of the day, Chuzi says, “it’s kind of hard to see how someone will win on a claim of religious belief.”
