KCNF’s Keir Bickerstaffe Speaks at Federal Employment Law Training for Volunteer Attorneys

KCNF Of Counsel Keir Bickerstaffe led a virtual training hosted by the Rise Up: Federal Workers Legal Defense Network on April 23. The session introduced volunteer attorneys to the fundamentals of federal employment law, with a specific focus on the legal framework governing Reductions in Force (RIFs), a timely and critical issue as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) have been initiating mass RIFs affecting tens of thousands of federal employees throughout the government. The virtual workshop was open to any licensed attorney interested in defending the rights of federal workers.

For over 20 years, Bickerstaffe has been a leading advocate in the fight against workplace discrimination and for the protection of labor rights, bringing a wealth of experience to this urgent national effort. He was joined by Daniel Rosenthal of James & Hoffman and Abigail Carter of Bredhoff & Kaiser.

This initiative was organized by We The Action in collaboration with the AFL-CIO, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), and others as part of the launch of Rise Up: Federal Workers Legal Defense Network, a national pro bono effort to mobilize attorneys in support of federal employees facing unlawful terminations.
