Public sector workers who want to challenge COVID-19 vaccine mandates continue to face an uphill battle. The most recent example comes from New York City public sector workers, including a group of teachers, firefighters, sanitation workers, and others, who challenged the city from enforcing is vaccine mandate. Designated by the court to act on emergency matters for New York, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor denied the emergency request, thus rejecting the group’s challenge.
So, what does this signal for future challenges? George Chuzi spoke with Mark McGraw from IPMA-HR and said Justice Sotomayor’s decision is “consistent with the Court’s response to virtually all requests to block the COVID vaccine mandate, particularly for healthcare workers.”
