Justice Stephen Breyer’s tenure with the U.S. Supreme Court has had a notable impact on employment law. George M. Chuzi, a partner with KCNF, spoke with SHRM about Justice Breyer’s legacy in the article “Employee Protections from Retaliation Have Grown During Breyer’s Tenure.”
The article provided an overview of several of Justice Breyer’s opinions impacting employers and workers, including upholding the Affordable Care Act and expanding employee protections from retaliation. Chuzi discussed two important written opinions regarding anti-retaliation provisions, noting that Breyer has been “firmly in the camp of protecting rights granted by Congress or, in his view, the Constitution.”
